As a food assistance program, Hunger Relief ensures individuals and families don’t go without the most basic necessity needed to survive. In 2011, the food pantries distributed food to a total of 4,057 families with 9,292 total visits.

The primary food & bread distribution sites are located at 3 locations (Partnership Churches) to meet the needs of residents in some of the poorest communities within our city. The sites are distributed geographically throughout the county to provide accessibility to a target population with limited access to transportation. Led by church and community volunteers who sort, bag, and distribute free food, the sites operate in accordance with San Antonio Food Bank policies.
